    Programs

    Throughout the year the MPA holds general membership meetings which present topics and speakers of current interest to the paralegal profession. The Annual Meeting is held in October.

    Publications

    The MPA publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, Viewpoint (View a sample), containing articles of interest including local and national news, programs and announcements. MPA membership also includes a subscription to The National Paralegal Reporter, the official publication of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations.

    Continuing Education

    Throughout the year, the MPA sponsors continuing education seminars, including brown bag lunch and specialty section programs, and co-sponsors seminars with Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. In addition, the MPA monitors the growth and development of paralegal training programs throughout the Commonwealth, having recently published a dirctory of such programs.

    Bar Liaison

    The MPA sponsors open communication with state and local bar associations.

    Pro Bono

    The MPA works to provide volunteer opportunities for paralegals to work in a public interest capacity and also seeks to develop volunteer opportunities with governmental and community agencies.

    Job Bank

    The MPA alerts members to employment openings. Upon receiving notice of a job opening, the MPA sends copies of the notice to membership categories as selected by the employer. Various seminars dealing with employment issues are also held throughout the year.

    NFPA

    By belonging to this association, $20 of your dues are forwarded by the MPA to NFPA for your NFPA membership. Of this, $4 pays for your National Paralegal Reporter subscription. This is a substantial savings compared to the NFPA's individual sustaining membership dues of $75.
