E-Discovery in the Digital Age


This e-Discovery course provides essential skills for paralegals, legal assistants, lawyers, and others in the legal field conducting litigation discovery in the digital era.  Students will interpret and apply the rules of civil procedure while conducting simulated discovery of electronically
stored information (ESI). Through hands-on work in a computer lab using CaseLogistix, students will design and apply strategies for the management of electronic discovery in litigation, including the implementation of a
litigation hold.  Students will learn how to load and manipulate data in a review platform, as well as best practices for identifying, preserving, collecting, processing and reviewing information.  Students will practice
problem-solving and analytical skills within the context of evaluating practical and ethical issues involved in electronic discovery. Students will be able to communicate effectively with accurate legal terminology and
demonstrate proficiency in the use of legal technology.  This is a hands-on course in a computer lab. Students must be proficient with MS Windows. Please bring a flash drive to class.
