Two experienced paralegals will discuss their careers in the pharmaceutical industry.  There will be an opportunity at the end of the session for Q&A with the speakers.  

Annemarie McGonagle Annemarie has over 15 years of experience working  at a fast-paced, innovative global specialty biopharmaceutical company as Manager of Legal Services and Senior Paralegal responsible for providing end-to-end legal support for all discovery, research, development and medical activities in the US, including handling trials for 20+ investigational drugs, transitioning programs from clinical to launch, with a strong focus on oncology, immuno-oncology and rare diseases, and supporting the clinical trial contracting function.  Annemarie has delivered effective legal and compliance training to field medical, sales force and home office personnel. Recognized as a trusted business partner and problem solver on a wide range of strategic and operational matters, with demonstrated ability to proactively develop practical and well-reasoned solutions satisfying both business and legal interests. Recognized leadership and accomplishments in the legal community, including serving 8+ years on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Paralegal Association and is currently the MPA President.


Janeva Zabala is the Assistant Corporate Secretary, Executive Paralegal and Legal Department Manager at Paratek Pharmaceuticals, Inc. She has over 15 years’ experience in corporate governance and securities with experience in securities laws compliance, including the preparation and filing of annual, quarterly and event driven SEC disclosure documents and Section 16 filings. As Assistant Corporate Secretary, Janeva supports and manages the board of directors and its committees, including attending and drafting the minutes of meetings, preparation and distribution of board materials and drafting resolutions and consents. She also has experience with monitoring and updating educational information relating to corporate governance policies; managing records for the company's domestic and international subsidiaries, pharmacy licenses applications through various state agencies and state and federal lobbying filings and Political Action Committees.  She has worked with top law firms and companies across the Commonwealth of MA on various merger and acquisition transactions, including managing due diligence data rooms, HSR and FINRA filings and closing procedures. She manages the contracts system and corporate compliance training at Paratek as well.
