What Paralegals Need to Know About Foreclosures
Please join REBA's Paralegal Section and the Massachusetts Paralegal Association for an open luncheon meeting at 12-1:30 pm on Tuesday, February 4th at REBA in Boston.
Guest speakers Melissa B. Morrow and Matthew J. Carbone, both of whom spent many years working in the trenches with foreclosures and the resulting titles, will discuss foreclosure procedure, review of prior foreclosures found in title review, and review of the foreclosure deed and other documents in a current transaction.
Melissa and Matthew will review how the statutory framework and case-law developments over the last decade related to the validity of foreclosures are distilled into the on and off-record documents to review the marketability and insurability of titles derived from foreclosure. Currently, all eyes are on the Thompson case pending with the SJC, creating even more uncertainty about post-foreclosure titles. Melissa and Matthew will explore the current landscape and provide insight into the continuing challenges created by foreclosures.
This luncheon, which is open to all REBA members, will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Presidents Conference Room at REBA, 295 Devonshire Street, Sixth Floor, in Boston. This presentation will also be webcast.
